Description

So I was browsing around not too long ago when I stumbled upon the page for High Roller, and it inspired me to come up with a character and a weapon for the setting.

Name: Rick Chipman
Gender: Male
Age: 28
Species: Red fox
Background: As a bartender at a large casino in Goldenlight City, Rick Chipman had spent more time watching the gambling tables from afar than actually joining in the fun. While he was far from unhappy with his career, he always felt like something was missing from his life, something exciting. When he heard that the High Roller tournament had been revived after many years, Rick leapt at the opportunity. Pouring nearly everything he had into acquiring an outfit and weapon for the games, he is now ready to compete, eagerly seeking fame and fortune. Rick is a cheerful, eager individual, one who is always determined to get the job done. He is not quite as brave as he thinks he is, though, and might not be up to the actual challenges that await in the High Roller tournament. Despite all the practice he has put into learning how to use his shotgun, it's not the same thing as actual combat, and he may buckle under the pressure. Can he tip the odds in his favor and come out on top?

Weapon: "Triple Play" Blackjack Triple Barrel Break-Action Shotgun
This is a triple barrel break-action shotgun. When the trigger is pulled, the gun draws three cards, which are displayed holographically above the topmost gun barrel. Cards have their standard face values, face cards are worth 10 and Aces can be worth 1 or 11. Just like in blackjack, the idea is to get the total value of all three cards to be as close as possible to 21 without going over. A total value of exactly 21 will result in the most powerful shot, but anything more than that will weaken it greatly, even more so than if the total had been less than 21. In addition, drawing three of a kind will have special effects on the shot. For instance, drawing three 7s will result in an extra-powerful shot, causing maximum damage; but on the other hand, drawing three Kings is the worst possible result, as it will cause the gun to backfire and hurt its wielder instead. This gun can potentially be very powerful, but it is slow to fire, since it must be reloaded after every shot. It also doesn't have a very great range, almost requiring its user to get up close and personal with his opponent.
